The word O’neity seeks to point to a Pre-existence State that cannot truly be described, because no word in the human vocabulary is adequate enough to express its uniqueness. The nearest available term may appear to be Oneness, yet even that falls short, for oneness still belongs to the language of existence. It stands in contrast to multiplicity, diversity, fragmentation, and separation. It is therefore a relational term, meaningful only where there are distinctions to be reconciled or gathered into unity.
O’neity is not of that order. It does not signify unity within creation, but rather that which may be imagined as prior to creation itself – prior to distinction, prior to relation, prior even to the possibility of “one” and “many.” It cannot be given a definitive meaning because no human mind has ever stood in that state, nor could it, for mind itself is a later emergence within the field of existence.
If one were to attempt a gesture toward it, O’neity may be imagined as the ineffable state before the Grand Explosion or before vibration, before light, before time, before space, before consciousness took form as knower and known. It is not emptiness, because emptiness is already a concept of the mind. It is not fullness, because fullness implies comparison. It is not stillness as opposed to movement, because opposition itself had not yet arisen. It is not silence as opposed to sound, because even silence requires the possibility of hearing.
O’neity therefore belongs to no category available to thought. It is neither presence nor absence, neither being nor non-being, neither potential nor manifestation. It is the unknowable precondition of all conditions, the unmanifest mystery from which the first stirrings of existence may have arisen.
To speak of O’neity is not to define it, but only to acknowledge the inadequacy of language before the primordial. It is a word offered not as a conclusion, but as a reverent pointer toward that which cannot be captured by intellect – the inexpressible Pre-existence State, before all worlds, before all forms, before the first whisper of becoming.
To go into that state, I think, one has to become mindless. Alas, the damn mind is an intractable inhibitor!
